The Kings Of Leon Album Because Of The Times is simply stunning. Im not too sure that it will displace Aha Shake Heartbreak but it backs up an already impressive list of songs that have made them one of my favourite bands of all time. This album already places them above the stones in my heart. Just like with the other two albums there are songs which stand out as just simple classics and some fillerish tracks. Charmer is a romping storm of a song which a scream being the main draw, it might be a little love it or hate it but it is just great. Something that you really wouldnt expect. Knocked Up is a great song where the line "I want you to have my children" isnt corny or contrived bearing in mind that the song is 7 minutes long that is a god send. The stand out track for me has to be On Call a beautiful dirge type song that reminds me of Interpol. The Band has kinda of dropped its fascination with hookers and made an album not necessarily full of love song but more attainable to a wider audience. On Call is probably now my second favourite Kings Of Leon song after King Of The Rodeo. Because of the Times is probably their most coherent album in terms of flowing from start to finish, it is my album of the year so far.
