Something funny happened last night. It usually does on a friday night but it was quite funny to hear it here in paris during my last week. i was talking to some girl and she was saying that she could tell by the way i dress that i was east london. which i just shyly laughed off and thought was quite hilarious. it wasnt until now that it hit me. Not in a an angry way but a humorous way. it has been in my time in paris that i have realised that i have become more and more like a londoner. even though in reality i am one of the furthest things from it. not that fashion defines who you are but obviously it aides in peoples first impressions. i have always joked about being a camden leisure pirate and a shoreditch fashion bitch but i guess last night was the night i crossed the theshold. Unwittingly i had become an obeject of my ridicule. The thing is that most of my humour comes from admiration. i may make fun of r kelly but i find it hilarious that he is so popular. for example last night i made fun of this man with wolverine style beard. i remarked that even with that beard he was still getting play. that statement came from admiration that he would have the balls to go out there and use that beard to his full advantage. Not everyone would have the balls to do so.
Sometimes just being different from the crowd illicites hate but with an undercurrent of admiration.
