Rude Arsenal

There will be will some written posts this week. The masses (ie some friends) are complaining over the lack of things that they can read whilst at work. First, in celebration of the weather here is a video from Sunday morning.

“You know it's summer when you stumble out of a grotty london pub at 5 in the morning after dancing to minimal techno for two hours, only to find some russian guy pumping out weird trance out of his souped up penlope pitstop looking car.
Only in london.”

She is looking good

Plain Janes Vs Shoreditch is Shit. Tonight at 333 in Shoreditch. This will be big. The Yo Mama boys will be killing it in one of the rooms. Another room will have the foam in it, I assume with music playing as well. Then in room one, Ezra Bang and the Machine (Looking forward to that) and Theophilus London (Kind of intriguing, mixtape wasn’t that good his producer is on point). Then the illusive Work It! (aka the box circa 1998) will be playing. More importantly in that room 7oel will be spinning as well. Should be amazing.

Fiver before 11, 10 after.

Hanging High

Old Yellow Bricks

This is DJ, he runs a clothing shop called Imperious Rex in Bethnal Green. It carries some of the best brands in streetwear. If you want that one of a kind tee shirt, this is the place to go. Don’t believe me why don’t you try the website.

Contrary to what you may think the streetwear game is severely affected by the recession at the moment. Companies are shutting down their flagship stores in central London. Shops that they worked so hard to get.

The reason why I wanted to write about him is that he is unique. He got into it not to make money but because he appreciates the fashion. He could have sold out but he chooses to not to and in this day and age that is admirable.

I wish that people had the same relationship with clothes as they once did with butchers and bakers. Imagine going into a shop, the owner knowing who you are and recommending tee shirts that you might like.

I guess that remains a fantasy. The closest we have to that is blogs. So I ask this small thing, if you like what is on the website send it to a friend. You don’t even have to buy anything. Just get the word out. You are computer savvy and have taste (why else would you be here?), so go ahead and recommend it to someone. Just remember to try local.

Rien a Perdre

Tonight at Favela Chic, marks the return of Space Raiders. Can’t make it but should be fun.

N.B. Never really a fan of the crisps, Transform-a-Snack was more my thing.
