I guess I never really wrote down the things that I wanted to accomplish this year. I’m not too sure whether I should be writing down the majority of these things as they are slightly personal but I guess this way someone might read it and pick up on it and decide to remind halfway through the year. Some of them are quite banal, some are actually important, others are quite unrealistic.
1) Go to the gym three times a week (Not that hard)
2) Be more organised (Really Hard)
3) Be cleaner (Hard)
4) Never turn down an opportunity to go out unless it conflicts with work or a prior engagement. Stop being a Mardy Bum.
5) Learn Spanish (Will probably accomplish this thanks to room mate)
6) Travel more, yes even within England.
7) Read a Book a month, preferably biographies about musicians.
8) Call my friends and family more often. (Im getting another mobile plan so this shouldn’t be that hard.)
9) Stop wasting time online (Less Youtube, no one need to find themselves in the position where they are watching commercials for the 1980 L.A Olympics at 6 in the morning. Regardless of how funny the sight of men in ridiculous seeming athletic gear being intersped with crappy special effects and cheesy music by Giorgio Moroder.
10) Spending 2 hours researching Giorgio Moroder and Cerrone’s influence on the dance scene. No one really cares.
11) Learn to shut my mind off and become one of the masses. (Pretend that you are shocked that Justin broke up with Cameron because you really thought that they would make it.)
12) Do my reading on time. Actual school work and don’t ever do that stupid thing of trying to ask others in that pathetic roundabout way.
13) See of you can actually make some money from this blog game.
14) Try not to be so pessimistic, if you can make yourself believe that A View To A Kill is a great movie, it really is, I can look at the world in a sunnier disposition.
15) Slowly build the Bond collection secretly and try not to mention that the prospect of buying a bb gun that looks like a Walter PPk wasn’t one of the best moments of the trip to Paris.
16) Make an effort to reach out to out of touch friends because god knows you have to do something before it gets awkward.
17) Learn to be less self-conscious, self deprecating posts on the interweb is a start.
18) Actually see Massana this year. Dude is pretty much my mentor and saved me earlier this year. (Yes it’s only January and the dude has saved me.)
19) Watch more films and don’t be so quick to judge even if you are almost always right. Maybe try and get people to see the joys of the film Black Dracula and Black Caesar.
20) Go to more gigs, don’t make the James Brown (I should have gone to see him perform last year.) mistake (stump up the cash and watch the stones before keef dies)
21) Don’t leave a night out saying I should have done this or that. Leave it saying I shouldn’t have done this or that.
21 resolutions for the 21 year old. Be a dear and try to remind me about once a month.
