“Ain’t No Body dope as me, I’m just so fresh so clean” - Outkast

As a lot of you guys are well aware I am a big fan of the hip hop genre. I don’t talk about it much but it has a charm that grips me from the start. Now for some obscure region I am of weird fan of hip hop, in that I like the really bad stuff and the great stuff as well. For example last night was a night where I and two of my good friends proceeded to dance the night away listening to gangster hip hop from the late nineties. Dmx “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem”, Jay Z “Big Pimpin” and Gangstarr’s “You Know My Steez” were just a select few that where played last night. And although I will never get over seeing a cute German girl recite verbatim all the words to N.W.A “Straight Outta Compton” it was a night to remember. Now I am telling you this because it seems that listening to hip hop is a way to put people in the mood to do things. In some cases it is to drive real slow and looked pissed off (See Office Space) or to do outlandish things that you wouldn’t do (See any V.I.P room in the world). Now for some reason I transcribed this acting to cleaning the windows this morning. Now a major part of this comes from the male bravado of hip hop. The swagger is a key component of the genre. In order to differentiate yourself you really need to try hard in that genre. Kanye and Common go for the gap look, Pharrell steals skateboarding, Ghostface Killah switches from 70’s pimp to Russian billionaire (old types with the huge chinchilla coat and the wallaby’s) and Andre 3000 tries to dress like Prince Charles (true fact). I bring this up since I forgot to actually post/write (delete where appropriate) the end of year awards things. The only thing that I could come up with was rob being best dressed. This caused controversy since everyone thought that this award would go to Matteo. There is no denying that the Italian on top of his game is almost unbeatable. However when the dude dresses down he look like a builder, I’m sorry bro but that just life. Rob is Mr Consistency understated cool, he has mentioned that he is going for Josh Hartnett in Lucky Number Slevin. To be honest he has nailed it to a t, granted this means that I am the only one that still wears t shirts in my group of friends. Now let the pictures do the work.
